Regulations and Methods

The Nevada State Demographer's position was established under NRS (Nevada Revised Statutes) 360.283. The position conducts population estimates which have a variety of uses. One of the primary uses is in the allocation of tax revenues to counties and governments within them (See NRS 354, 360, and 377). Direction for producing the estimates is provided by Nevada Administrative Code (NAC).

Discussion Areas have been established to provide an area for local government representatives to discuss the application of NAC 360 and to discuss methodologies used by local governments in conducting their own estimates and other population related topics.
