Nevada 2010 Census
Welcome to Nevada's 2010 Census Page!
Preparations are under way for the 2010 Census and this page will try to bring together information about the 2010 Census, especially as it relates to Nevada. As part of keeping local governments and other interested parties informed about the Census, the Nevada State Data Center in conjunction with the State Demographer's office has been sending out Nevada Census 2010 News.
The three newsletters can be found here: May 2006, May 2007, and March 2008.
Criteria for Census Designated Places can be found here.
Nevada's Census will be lead by the Denver Regional Office and information about Census jobs can be found here.
The census serves as the core of our democracy as the basis for reapportionment of congressional representation across the states. It also is the linked to the principle of one man, one vote. In short responding to it is an exercise in civic responsibility. The history of the census can be found here. In today's world many people are concerned about the questions asked through the long form and its replacement the American Community Survey. These questions are asked of a sample of the population and there are strict laws governing their public release. Any published data is about our community not about us as individuals. To see what questions have been asked over the decades, click here. Think of it this way, if you participate in a frequent buyerââ¬â¢s program, that merchant knows more about you that the Census Bureau does.
