Information About Nevada's Population
Nevada Census 2000 Data are now available in Adobe® Acrobat® profiles. These profiles provide information about a number of population topics in greater detail than previous profiles. Tables are consolidated to one page and in some cases the data are reported in a format similar to 1990 and earlier Census documents.
Estimating and Projecting Nevada's Population
The Nevada State Demographer's office is funded by the Nevada Department of Taxation and is responsible for conducting annual population estimates for Nevada's counties, cities, and towns. The office also estimates population by age, sex, race, and Hispanic origin of Nevada's counties. Population projections are produced on an annual basis as well. We welcome information inquiries and make every attempt to provide timely responses. Because of limited resources custom data requests are conducted on a discretionary basis with priority given to state and local governments and non profit agencies. We will be glad to connect such requests to alternative sources such as the Geographic Information Services Division of the SBDC.
Our Data and Publications page provides links to the Annual Estimates; 2000 Projections; Age and Race Estimates; and Portraits of Nevada's Population.
Our Links page provides a listing and brief description of sites that have information about Nevada's and the Western United States' population, economy and institutions. Also covered are sites that have information on the fields of demography, economic development and planning.
Our Regulations and Methods page presents an overview of the regulations and methods to estimate Nevada's population as well as links to specific regulations. Bulletin Boards are there for local and state government representatives who work with the population estimates to discuss and share information regarding the regulations and methods.
