What is the Cost and Commitment?
Four evenings of your time, and $450 for the workshop. This same training and assistance would cost you $850 if Camilla provided it to you in one-on-one consultations.

You will also need a domain name and site hosting, which we will set up unless you already have them. This will cost you approximately $60 per year. 

When and Where?
The workshop will be held in the computer lab at the UNR Redfield Campus from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday, July 15th and 17th, and the following Tuesday and Thursday the 22nd and 24th.

What you will get out of the workshop:
You will learn the purpose of a blog as it relates to your business, and how to stay on course to success. You willOK Man learn the definition and history of a blog and how to determine and write content. You will get hands-on experience building a blog site. You will also learn how to market your site, allow people to subscribe to your site, and be able to monitor and track the traffic & use patterns of your site.  

What you will walk away with:
At the conclusion of the workshop, you will have a turnkey website that by its nature and structure will appear in the top rankings of search engines. You will have a site that YOU can maintain and edit without having to wait or pay for an HTML programmer. You will have a site that you can change the look of YOURSELF with very minimal effort. You'll be able to monitor the effectiveness of your site.

You will have a blog that turnkey and ready to go. You will be set to start writing your articles, set to have current clients and friends subscribe to your entries, and set to participate in social bookmarking/networking sites.

The Workshop Instructor:

Camilla Downs, the owner of Corner Your Market - Reno, www.cymreno.com, is an effective and experienced web marketing consultant. She created this workshop in response to the frequent requests she has been receiving from small business owners asking for inexpensive AND effective websites.

The Structure of the Workshop:
  • The first evening, we will cover setting up the domain name and server hosting. We will also discuss the history of blogging, the purpose of a business blog, staying on course, and we will brainstorm ideas and concepts before you begin developing your site.  
  • Second evening, we will install the software on your hosting server and begin installation of layouts, features, plugins and widgets.  
  • Third evening, we will finish installing plugins & widgets and install Feedburner, Google Analytics, & set up accounts on social bookmarking sites.
  • Fourth evening, we will finish creating your site with the addition of social bookmarking sites, and once again discuss how to keep your content current and relevant, and the insider secrets of marketing your site.
